Mrs Hawthorn

.

Let’s dance around the fire Mrs Hawthorn
chant and sing about the pagan gods at night
the men can hit the drums and play the bagpipes
while us women dance around the hearth tonight

Ok be careful Mrs Hawthorn of my plant pots
We need to dance a little tighter around the fire
be careful of the flame around our robes now
I don’t think that we’ve worn a suitable attire

I don’t think you should  do that oh Mrs Hawthorn
Though the summer is quite hot for us tonight
not the neighbourhood for sky clad in the garden
We may give the elderly neighbours a real fright

The police have called me up oh Mrs Hawthorn
Saying that the neighbourhood have all complained
They are fed up with drumming and the bagpipes
could we turn the volume down or be detained

There was no reason for the spell now Mrs Hawthorn
I did say my place was not the best abode
We are now in jail and waiting for a bale out
When you went and turned that policeman to a toad.
