National poetry writing month
A month of madness

Saucepan lids

Saucepan lids
Pick me up now, Grandma
what a treat
bounce me on your lap and tickle my feet

Saucepans now, Grandma
Now for a tune
I hit them hard with a wooden spoon

An empty box, Grandma
can I get inside
peek a boo, it is time to now hide

A box of rice, Grandma
Good for a shake
I like the noise that it does make

I like this book, Grandma
with its soft cover
So much inside for me to discover

I am thirsty, Grandma
I need a drink
Can I have the juice that’s the colour pink

Time to eat, Grandma
a yogurt pot
I think I may now eat the lot

feeling tired, Grandma
time for a nap
Let me fall asleep upon your lap

National poetry month fun prompt
take any random song play and use the next five song titles on that randomized list in a poem.
.

I dont have a brand new combine harvester
and I'm not a cornflake girl
I do like the sound of the underground
and like Katy Perry's Pearl
And any song by Florence and the machine
