National poetry writing month

National poetry writing month
A month of madness

I only borrowed it

Dedicated to folk who have stolen borrowed stuff while drunk happy on a night out only to discover it in the morning
And utter the words where the hell did that come from.

I only borrowed it while I was drunk
A lovely picture of a skunk
It was in the pub, it looked my way
I had to take it just today

When I did fall out in the street
A random sign is such a treat
It seemed to be sad on its own
So I thought yes, it should come home

Oh look a flashing neon light
I'll borrow it, just for the night
I lost my torch, but now I'll see
I'm sure it was just left for me

Its raining now, I'll need a hat
I see a item just like that
Now must go home and into bed
With a traffic cone upon head
