Ray

Day 134

With great sadness I have lost a friend to cancer.
This poem is in honour of him

Ray. Tilt your hat Ray
Another Sunny day
A sing song hello
Will it rain or blow?

Laughing about Money
Jammy git was being funny
Found a brand new bicycle pump
Just five pound! Found in a dump

A collector of coins and pins
Had a board With millions
Always found another one
He was so much fun

Cigarette cards by the ton
Sorting through them isn't fun
His lovely wife says not again
Wish he did learn to abstain

Old puzzles found in a tip
Probably more like in a skip
Missing pieces by the load
his tables were on overload

Fine antiques he does find
Fine means crap, whoops never mind
He knows that I am being funny
Still he sells it for good money

He mends chairs and does research
1978 penny costs the earth
Only if its new and mint
Got to have a dodgy print

Miss you Ray you always cared
And stories that you always shared
You brought us fun and silent kissed
Oh my god you will be missed

And I know you'll be at peace
But do keep up with the lease
Please smile at your Wife Ann
She was your biggest fan

And you must know your wife will chat
She'll talk to you straight through your hat
Do not fret over all out tears
You bought such joy for many years

We will remember that.
