National poetry writing month
A month of madness

Leave some cream for the Wights

Every year in rain or dry
a little tray of food and cream
is what I leave for
the land Wights
who'd  dance the yuletide dream

Its something that I do each year
In places wild but sound
And in the dark I would leave out
Food and cream upon the ground

Id also toast the old green man
And leave him mead or beer
An apple and a large bread roll
In case he wandered near

They live around us often
They live where toads do sleep
They live in bark and foliage

You can see them if you peek
