hail to the light

Oh gentle friend, Oh faithful chum
you help me with my pain
the pain of loss, the pain of why
at night or day a reason why

As I bend down and open doors
your light it shines and shows me more
a slice of ham. A piece of cheese
or something that was left from tea

I look deep down, in darkest back
You shine your light upon the snack
a long lost tub of cottage cream
can be a midnight feasts dream

Oh my I spy. A yogurt pot
I do not need something hot
a jar of jam. A custard tart
what joy it brings to hearts

oh hail the fridge with a light
a thankful friend helps with my blight
like summer days forever sunny
helping me to calm my tummy.
